Sydney Lunar New Year Fair will be held on the day of “Lantern Festival” to celebrate the reunions of family and loved ones as a perfect closing of the festival. What’s better than having a family reunion weekend with fun and gourmet food to experience this Asian tradition?

This multicultural community fair will feature a gourmet paradise, kids fun carnival, bargain shopping frenzy, cultural performances, arts and crafts and more!

Mouth-watering cuisines from food trucks will satisfy every taste bud with worldwide gourmet foods. With numerous carnival games, jumping castles and rides for kids, exciting bargain shopping for parents, all ages are catered to in every way.

Live performances at the Lunar Spectacular Show

More community and cultural groups than ever before will take to the stage for this year’s Lunar Spectacular Show in celebration of The Year of The Rat. More than 300 performers will share their culture through dance, music, theatre, traditions and storytelling. Expect to see contemporary and traditional dance, Japanese hip hop, Korean drumming, fashion shows and much more!

Games and celebrations

Share your festive photos with the “Giant Lucky Rat” to celebrate the Year of Rat, “Lantern Riddles”, “God of Wealth”, Lion Dance and Firecracker on social media to spread the luck and fortune to everybody around you. Of course, you don’t want to miss out the freebies and red packets from the stalls and games.

To help you make the most of this family-friendly fair, multicultural stage performances, market stalls with plenty of goods and services including festive products, nourishment, technology, health and beauty, community demonstrations, art and craft workshops will be presented throughout the day.

This fun day will certainly attract people from cultures that celebrate the Lunar New Year including Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian and Indonesian community groups as well as tourists given the impeccable location in the city.
