Sydney Lunar Festival Pig Chandelier

View the Light of Good Fortune

Artitis Matt Hou Him Lai and Jincheng Jiang have interpreted the Year of the Pig as symbolising generosity and material prosperity.

A golden chandelier of flying pigs are suspended high above the centre of Pitt Street Mall, in a cheeky nod to the expression ‘pigs might fly’.

Designed by McDermottbaxter, with the artists, the Light of Good Fortune symbolises generosity and material prosperity.

The 2.5m wide and 2.2m tall chandelier is inspired by the Chinese custom of gifting newborns and newlyweds gold medals.
