Exhibition of prints, paintings, drawings and work on fabric.
Svetlana Prokhorova is a Sydney-based visual artist. She has recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at National Art School majoring in Printmaking, and this exhibition is a summary of her graphic art practice for the last two years.
During this time, she was a finalist in several national art awards with her printmaking and digital works.
Svetlana experiments with symbolic and minimal forms to express her ideas in visual concepts. Her artworks often draw the viewers’ attention to social issues and motivate people to the inner exploration. In this exhibition she investigates the relationship between Big City and people, whose habitation is an industrial environment.
The artist uses Constructivism as the best suitable style for the representation of modern urban living. For this exhibition she presents works on paper, such as screen print, linocut, drawing, watercolour, collage, and works on fabric.
