Celebrate strength, equity, and creativity at our International Women’s Day Pop Art card-making workshop. Inspired by the 2026 theme “Balance the Scales,” this event highlights the importance of inclusive and accessible justice for women and girls.
Using recent and archival images, including material from the City of Sydney Archives, you’ll uncover the stories of iconic women justice and equality advocates — from trailblazers Lilian Fowler and Jessie Street to influential First Nations women and contemporary advocates such as Sherele Moody. These photographs will become the springboard for creating bold, quirky, and celebratory Pop Art–style cards using gouache, collage, and vibrant colour.
Guided by experienced facilitators, this relaxed and welcoming workshop is suitable for all skill levels. You’ll be supported throughout the creative process, making it an expressive and social afternoon that blends art, history, and storytelling.
Enjoy a delicious afternoon cup of tea with scones, jam and cream, as you create and connect across generations. This intergenerational workshop encourages you to bring a family member or friend — whether a parent, sibling, grandparent, or someone special — to share in a joyful celebration of creativity, history, community, and the women who continue to inspire change.
