Friday 6 February from 10:30am to 1pm
Develop your storytelling skills in this engaging workshop with writer and curator Gary Paramanathan. Learn how to craft and share stories that captivate your friends and family.
The workshop will cover:
Storytelling principles: Three-act structure, the hero’s journey, and other classic techniques of building a story.
Recording memories: Reflect on memories using an object and build a story around it
Surrealism and magic realism: Embellish stories and creatively rewrite memories.
Participants will receive one-on-one guidance and support to develop stories at their own pace. This is an opportunity to write a beautiful story to share with your family on Chinese New Year. Mandarin and Cantonese translators will be available on the day and refreshments will be provided.
We aim to present inclusive and accessible events. If you have any particular access or communication needs please contact Jana Hawkins-Andersen, Programs Coordinator on 02 9265 9292 or JHawkinsAndersen@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
