Stop Motion Animation with Dinalie Dabarera (Ages 7–9)

When

Tuesday 27 September 2022 from 10am to 4pm

In this workshop, participants will learn stop motion animation and storytelling techniques, facilitated by Dinalie Dabarera.

Dinalie is an illustrator and children’s book author who loves telling stories. In 2016 she was nominated for the Children’s Book Council Australia Award for New Illustrator for her work on The Cat with the Coloured Tail by Gillian Mears. Her second picture book, Quiet Time with My Seeya is scheduled for publication by Roaring Brook Press (Macmillan USA) in 2023.

Participants will be guided through storytelling activities and create their own papercraft film set, before animating their set using stop motion.

Participants will develop skills that can translate to any stop animation software and get to take their papercraft set and characters home, along with a digital copy of their film.

Advance bookings are essential, as places are limited.

For ages 7–9.

Participants are asked to bring their own lunch and a hat as lunchtime activities may take place outdoors.
