Her music draws on nostalgia, diaspora and her Chinese heritage – the result is a collage of seemingly disparate sounds and cultures. Rainbow’s sophomore album Pillar was released in June to massive acclaim.
Sports Bra are an inventive pop-punk group, comprising the collective songwriting talents of Allison Gallagher, Naif Jamie, Zoe Lane and Kate Salt. This year they released their astounding second album Talk It Out, which has been described as “an anthemic collection of songs about survival, resilience, queer bodies and the relationships we form around us”.
EGOISM are a dream pop duo made up of Scout Eastment and Olive Rush. Their bittersweet bedroom-produced songs are characterised by duelling lead vocals and a thick soup of sparkling guitars and reverb. Recent singles Sorry and Enemies are dreamy listening and have infectious melodies that will leave you wanting to hear more.
DJ Gen Collier aka Genergy is a Sydney based producer who has firmly rooted herself in Sydney’s dance music community. A former graduate of FBi Radio’s Dance Class – a unique program to help budding female DJs get a head start in the industry – she is now the Executive Producer of the Midday Mix. Her stellar set at this year’s Secret Garden Festival reinforced her reputation to consistently set dance floors alight.
