The Little Bumblebees STEM learning program is educational and fun exposure to science, technology, engineering and maths for children aged 2 to 10 years.
It is run at NUBO play centres (Alexandria and Chatswood Chase) as a 30 minute workshop ranging with games, arts and crafts and creations that demonstrate STEM in nature and life.
Why start so young? This program promotes a positive experience with learning about technology where there is sometimes fear, insufficient knowledge or a perception that working with technology is unattractive.
The truth about STEM is that when we learn about it, we are also learning to embrace community, make friendships and develop an inner self belief in our abilities.
Building confidence in STEM may take many years. Having cultural and gender diversity in the people that work in STEM continues to take effort. Starting early is an advantage because it establishes positive experiences in the formative years of a child’s life.
A healthy curiosity to learn in a field where so much depth and complexity exists is to be nurtured. For those that have the desire to learn about STEM, Little Bumblebees will be there to support them and lift them up.
Because we know how rewarding and fulfilling life can be living in a world where information and connectivity can help solve the most challenging problems of society, health, environment and the quality of our lifestyle.
