As part of the lead-up to the 2018 Spring into Surry Hills arts program and Surry Hills Festival, the Surry Hills creative precinct is offering a range of unique experiences including arts, architecture and design, history and food tasting and experiences.
Curated and guided by expert locals you will meet local creatives, learn about history and architecture, visit design studios and galleries, sample some of the best food and dining experiences that Surry Hills is famous for among foodies worldwide.
Join us for afternoon tea in the church courtyard. Fr Bill will greet you and show some of the archival photos. David Nunn will continue with the iconic 1880 hall and church history, progressing onto a tour of the church grounds and rooms.
The Choir of St Peters has for 30 years been providing a high quality of music at weekly choral services. With the long-anticipated purchase and installation of a pipe organ finally completed in July, the once budding choir now proceeds to blossom in its musical offerings.
The program will feature the raw beauty of Sébastien de Brossard’s Stabat Mater and the intense introspection of Franz Liszt’s Via Crucis, a masterpiece from the close of his career, which will explore the vast colour palette of the new organ.
After the church Choir, we cross the road to Essenza for a pre-dinner drink in the courtyard, followed by dinner.
