Every year, The Shop Gallery, run by Hilik Mirankar and Anna Couani is in recess for January. But during this time, the owners and associates install a passive show in their gallery. It can be viewed by appointment by ringing Anna on 0438550835. Most works are for sale.

Space in the City is a group show by Hilik Mirankar (sculpture), Anna Couani (printmaking), Deborah Marcus (sculpture & drawing), Joakim Saflund (drawing & woodwork) and Fiona Livingstone (drawing).

Hilik, Deborah and Joakim work have been working together in Hilik's studio on individual sculptural pieces. Anna and Fiona have been working in Anna's studio on printmaking.

In this show, Hilik has made an installation consisting of timber sculptures that are floating landscapes, reminiscent of villages. Deborah and Joakim exhibit both their sculptural and 2D work. Anna’s work consists of abstract designs applied to perspex. Fiona works are large scale intricate pen drawings of organic shapes.

The show is viewable 24 hours a day through the gallery shop front 5 - 28 January 2026.
