From powerful dramas to laugh-out-loud comedies and jaw-dropping thrillers, witness stories that prove you don’t need Hollywood to make magic

Step into the future of filmmaking at SF3’s 11th Gala Finals, returning to the iconic Sydney Opera House for one unforgettable weekend celebrating creativity, innovation and storytelling like never before.

SF3 is the world’s biggest smartphone film festival, proving that incredible cinema can be created by anyone, anywhere — all you need is a phone and a story to tell. Across 11 inspiring years, SF3 has become a global movement, empowering filmmakers of all ages and backgrounds to create and share their voices with the world.

Join us for an extraordinary screening of the world’s best smartphone films, hand-picked from hundreds of entries across the globe. From gripping dramas to hilarious comedies, mind-bending sci-fi to powerful documentaries — these films will leave you amazed by what’s possible with the technology in your pocket.

With over $50,000 in prizes and a prestigious lineup of SF3 Ambassadors including Phillip Noyce, Kriv Stenders, Kerry Armstrong, Luis Fernandez, Nicole da Silva, and many more — this is a cinematic celebration you can’t afford to miss.

As Festival Director Angela Blake says, “Phones have revolutionized the film industry — and now everyone has the power to make films and share their stories with the world.”

Curatorial Statement

“Phones have revolutionised the film industry and now everyone has the power to make films and share their stories with the world.

11 years ago, when SF3 was founded, we could not have foreseen the spectacular advances in the use of phone technology – or the success we’d have in Australia and across the globe. At SF3 we are so proud to be at the centre of this movement and shift in filmmaking, inspiring thousands of creatives of all ages for the past decade. And now we get to share films shot on the smallest screens on stage at the world’s most iconic theatre.”
