In this short film hackathon, you’ll learn all the fundamentals of storytelling through film, from a range of creative filmmaking mentors.
From concept development, to storyboarding, to filming techniques, sound and editing, you’ll work in small teams to create short films that focus on stories in the local area around Green Square. At the end of the workshop, you'll have a short film that you've created, along with the knowledge and confidence to keep telling stories using your mobile phone.
Day 1 - Saturday 23rd October, 9:30am-5:30am - meet the mentors, form your teams. You'll learn about filming techniques, sound, lighting and story-boarding, before you spend the afternoon shooting your story.
Mid-week check-in (ONLINE) - Wednesday 27th October, 6pm-7pm
Day 2 - Saturday 30th October, 9:30am-5:30pm - learn all the fundamentals of editing and work with your mentors to review all your footage, choose scenes and edit your short film together.
You'll finish with a Sunday afternoon screening!
