Supporting And Linking Tradeswomen (SALT) Women in Trades Conference 2019 aims to bring together all those with an invested interest in what diversity and balance in the Workforce means.
What does it take to shift a workforce which is entrenched? What does acceptances of diversity mean?
SALT represents many different trades. We believe the way forward is for everyone to work together for acceptance of diversity in the workforce and gender parity.
Who will attend?
The SALT Australia Women in Trades Conference will attract tradeswomen, apprentices, tradeswomen’s representatives and groups, policy makers, industry leaders, industry groups, trade schools, trade suppliers and a wide range of people who are interested in supporting a forward thinking and innovative work culture that produces increased output with proven results.
This conference is a fabulous opportunity to meet women who represent a large diversity of skills and experience. To network with women interested in joining the trades and those who have successfully worked as tradeswomen for many years.SALT began in 2009 to provide a support network for tradeswomen, apprentices and women wishing to enter the trades.
2019 is SALT’s 10th Anniversary and all that has been achieved in that time is being celebrated. Since SALT began, we have taught thousands of women and girls how to use tools and we have run nearly 300 basic tool workshops across Australia, teaching women and girls in communities, primary and high schools how to use tools with the mobile workshop trailer.
We are thrilled to announce the opening of the 2019 SALT Awards at the Conference which also includes three brand new awards to celebrate the work being done across Australia, the Company Award for best practice in diversifying a trade work force, Rising Star Award, SALT Volunteer Award plus the already established Longevity Award.
