Salón Flamenco is presented by Annalouise Paul Dance Theatre in partnership with Sydney Solstice Festival 2021.

Moving away from traditional tropes, the artists explore gender, movement, sound and concepts that concern them as Australians practising far from the mothership of Spain. They share a philosophy of practice; to de-mystify Flamenco, making it accessible to wider arts audiences and moving it from the periphery of exotic ethnicity to contemporary relevance. Salón Flamenco is radical flamenco-based works that undermine expectations and ignore the rules.

Salón Flamenco 2021 is an elastic collective from across the country including, Lisa Maris McDonnel, Annalouise Paul, Maree Laffan, Tomas Arroquero, Nuria Rodriguez, Paloma Negra, Yasmin Amber.
