From Australia’s most dynamic small theatre, five extraordinary performers rework a selection of classic musicals.
Rewired on the Piazza is the latest production by Hayes Theatre Co, the home of musical theatre and cabaret.
After a sell-out series at Sydney Festival, ReWired returns with new acts that will change the way you see your favourite musicals forever; mashing up genre and style to put a contemporary and hugely entertaining spin on familiar tunes. Imagine a high octane version of Oliver sung by Latin heart-throb Ryan Gonzalez, or the heart-wrenching hits from Les Miserables sung as hard rock headbangers.
Directed by Richard Carroll, whose much-loved production of Calamity Jane toured Australia, ReWired features arrangements by the extraordinary Musical Director Isaac Haywood and an outrageously talented band.
Hayes has enjoyed widespread critical praise and packed houses in the seven years since its production of Sweet Charity introduced a vibrant new performing arts company to the Australian cultural landscape. True to form, ReWired will delight musical theatre fans and anyone looking for an electrifying night out.
Gates open at 6.30PM. Arrive early and settle into the Piazza with an aperitivo or appetiser before the performance. See the Sunset Piazza menu here.
