Join us for a morning of experiencing the rewarding benefits of art for wellbeing.

In our ‘ReSource Yourself’ workshop, leading Art Therapist Sally Swain will introduce you to the benefits that art-making can have on your mental and physical wellbeing.

Be guided by short meditations to engage your creative mindset and immerse yourself in a non-judgemental state of innate creation. This workshop is not about the end result, but about the joy and benefits of the process, which you can take away with you for further enjoyment and development.

An epicormic bud dwells beneath the surface of a tree, holding potential, ready to be activated in tough times. What life-affirming joys live in the core of you? How might you Source and Re-Source yourself?

Let’s make space for ourselves to play with simple, accessible art materials and practices. Let’s conjure kindfulness (mindfulness + self-compassion). Let’s explore what might seed, sprout and blossom in unexpected ways from the heart of our challenges.

In a safe, non-judgmental environment, with Sally’s gentle guidance, you have a chance to connect with a source of joy; to explore, express and cultivate the growth of what matters. Surrounded and supported by the inspiring Embers, Epicorm exhibition, let’s tune in to the wisdom of creative process to assist with restoration and regeneration.

And guess what? You don’t need to feel confident about your art abilities at all. You will be encouraged to give yourself permission to follow the beat of your own art heart and see what arises, even at risk of making a mess or getting it skewiff. There is peace, pleasure and power to be found in the act of mark-making.

Simply BYO, that is, Bring Your Openness.

The cost of the workshop is $99 which includes:

  • 2 ½ hours tuition and guidance by Sally Swain,

  • basic materials

  • light morning tea

  • a unique experience of connecting with your own creativity whilst surrounded by the Embers, Epicorm exhibition

  • Registrations are essential as spaces are limited. Register via Eventbrite. No prior experience is necessary.

If you miss out on a place, or do not live locally and would like to take part in 'ReSource Yourself', Sally is planning to offer a series of four workshops via zoom this August/September. Please register your interest by emailing nicolewallacecuratorial@gmail.com.
