An evening of conversation and music to celebrate Refugee Week 2021, presented by City of Sydney, the Asylum Seekers Centre and Amnesty International.

Tickets available to join the event at Sydney Town Hall or via the livestream.

Speakers include:

  • Craig Foster - Refugee advocate and soccer legend

  • Rosemary Kariuiki - Australian Local Hero of the Year

  • Farhad Bandesh - Refugee advocate, musician, former detainee

  • Councillor Jess Scully - City of Sydney Deputy Lord Mayor

  • Yvonne Weldon - Chairperson, Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council

  • Frances Rush - Asylum Seekers Centre CEO

  • Graham Thom - Amnesty International Australia Refugee Coordinator

  • Mithat Unlu - business owner and refugee

  • Roaa Ahmed - student and refugee

There'll be live music featuring Farhad Bandesh supported by rock legends from Midnight Oil and more. The event will be Auslan Interpreted with captioning available on the live stream.

Covid-safe information

A Covid-Safe plan is available.

It is a condition of entry to check-in with a QR code.

  • Guests will be required to wear a face mask.

  • If you are unwell/ have any symptoms, you must not attend the event. Please stay home and get tested.

  • Guests are advised to follow the up-to-date NSW Health advice.

  • You must practice physical distancing (1.5 metres) where practical. An empty seat will be allocated between each group booking.

  • Guests are required to follow staff directions in regards to Covid-Safe practices.

Please note that there will be 3 entry points into Centennial Hall - St Andrew's Cathedral Square entry, Druitt St entry and George St entry. This information will be available on your ticket.
