Multi-award-winning vocalists and performers Paul Capsis (Threepenny Opera, Angela's Kitchen, Cabaret) and iOTA (Smoke and Mirrors, Graeme Murphy's Berlin, Hedwig) unleash an intimate and powerful contemporary song cycle for the end-times, spanning themes of ecstasy and desire, exorcism and repression, love and murder.

Join the prolific gods of cabaret and glam rock in a concert version of upcoming new musical RAPTURE: a song cycle of Desire and Ecstacy, Murder and Mayhem, featuring new songs and reimagined classics by Megan Washington, Deb Conway and Willy Zygier, Blondie and The Kinks.

Moving from exquisite string quartet to ’70s love ballads, come prepared for songs and text that swing from ancient to blaspheme, from evangelical love-fest to demented exorcisms of the soul.

Conceived and directed by Michael Kantor, with a live performance by musical director and guitarist Jethro Woodward and a video dreamscape created by video artist Nick Roux, this is an unmissable musical journey from 2 of our most gifted interpreters of song. Sydney Festival is planning for 2021 with a focus on the recovery and rejuvenation of Australian arts, celebrating the very best new Australian work and the joy of shared live experiences. The safety and well-being of artists and audiences is foremost in our planning.
