Rainbow Evolution: Anarchy to acceptance is an exhibition of artworks produced by the participants of BGF’s 2017 Art Phoenix program.
This exhibition will be held at The Shop Gallery.
Rainbow Evolution will feature work from BGF’s Art Phoenix participants. They learned about the painting of artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Yayoi Kusama and Ghada Amer, who are known for expressing themes of sexuality and spirituality.
BGF’s Art Phoenix is a 6-week program that aims to support HIV+ artists to creatively express themselves through the medium of art. The workshops were delivered in partnership with Pine Street Creative Arts Centre. These exceptional artworks will be showcased thanks to tutor Natalya Shinn and tutor and curator Anney Bounpraseuth.
The exhibition will launch on Thursday 22 February 2018 with an opening from BGF Honorary Life Member Ita Buttrose. Drinks will be available on opening night for a gold coin donation and artworks will be available for purchase.
