Get creative during Art Month and join experienced artists Matt and Maurice from Goldberg Aberline Studio for a hands-on introduction to fabric design.
If you’ve ever wanted to know how to get all those creative ideas from pencil or paintbrush to print, this workshop will give you the skills to get you started. In just 1-day you’ll design your own fabric ready to print.
In the morning you’ll be busy getting all your design ideas down on paper. Matt and Maurice will introduce you to some fun techniques and processes to help you put colour on paper. By the end of the morning you’ll have a handful of first stage designs.
After lunch you’ll learn how to transform your manual artwork into vibrant print ready designs using digital apps and other technology. You’ll use low Tech apps on your mobile or iPad so you can continue designing at home.
By the end of the workshop you’ll have a design file ready to take to the the printers. Matt and Maurice will discuss the different printing options and techniques available. They’re also happy to assist with printing and then turning your fabric into cushions or wall hangings.
No prior experience is necessary.
