Learn how to carve and print your own block designs in this fun 2.5 hour workshop for beginner printmakers.

Get hands on to draw your own design and transfer it to a rubber block. Then carve your design into the block and use it to make prints on card and paper.

You’ll get to take home everything you make, including the block and prints.

No prior experience is necessary to enjoy this short workshop. It is a great opportunity to get an introduction to the range of courses offered in our professional art studios. Anyone over 15 years old is welcome to attend.

Class size: maximum 15
What to bring: yourself – all materials provided
What to wear: enclosed shoes (no sandals or thongs) and comfortable clothing (aprons provided)
Cost: $55 per person
Participants must be aged 15+ years old to attend this workshop

Tutor: Micaela Christie
Since 2010, Micaela has been the creative director of Atomic Fox, a studio that produces hand printed textiles and artwork for interiors, homewares and costumery. Her work can be found in private collections in Australia and the UK. Based in the Blue Mountains, Micaela’s multidisciplinary practice incorporates printmaking, painting, graphic design, fibre and lighting installations. She is a graduate of the University of NSW College of Fine Arts (now UNSW Art & Design). Her work is handcrafted with love and passion.
