The Sydney Russian Orthodox Chamber choir and Diocesan Liturgical Music Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad are presenting a fundraising concert.

This program explores the evolution of sacred choral music across centuries.

It also brings a focus on the 100th anniversary of Alexander Kastalsky’s passing—a central figure in the renewal of Russian Orthodox music and works by his contemporaries Pavel Chesnokov and Alexander Gretchaninov that reflect the spiritual depth of the late Imperial era.

Baroque foundations will be heard in music by Mykola Diletsky and Dmitry Bortniansky.

The 19th-century St. Petersburg school is represented by Grigory Lvovsky and Nikolai Kopylov, bridging classical and Romantic styles.

The journey concludes with contemporary works by Sergey Samusenko and Kurt Sander, affirming the living continuity of this sacred tradition.

Through your generous contributions from tickets and CD sales, we will able to continue the preservation of this extraordinary musical tradition, provide access to classical arts, and support the next generation of musicians.
