Discover the rich history and heritage of Māori in Australia on an award-winning walking tour in The Rocks.

On this 2-hour walking tour, you’ll visit sites in The Rocks where Māori have lived, loved, traded, visited, worked and died since 1793.

You’ll see Māori taonga (treasured objects) found on a local archeological site and now exhibited at The Rocks Discovery Museum. You’ll also visit the archeological site where they were revealed.

You’ll get hands-on with cultural treasures, walk down Māori Lane, hear waiata (Māori song) and intriguing stories spanning over 225 years, from visiting Māori chiefs, kidnappings and trade in the 1800s to the present where one in five Māori live in Australia.
