Poetry Month 2025: Art After Hours - Ekphrastic Fantastic

Go beyond the frame as some of our leading poets read poetry created in response to artworks, alongside renowned artists reading poems from their own pen or that have inspired their practice.

The event will feature the premiere of two new ekphrastic commissions by acclaimed author and musician Nardi Simpson and award-winning poet Eunice Andrada, who will both perform their pieces live in front of the artworks they have chosen from the AGNSW collection.

Featuring Eunice Andrada, Nardi Simpson, Barrina South, Ali Jane Smith, Omar Sakr, Safdar Ahmed, Richard Tipping, Claudia Nicolson, Salote Tawale, and hosted by Red Room Poetry’s Nicole Smede.
