At the April City Thought Leader seminar you’ll hear from two creative directors on how to tap in to create business opportunities during event season. You’ll also learn how three local business operators successfully activated their spaces during Vivid Sydney, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival and Sydney Chinese New Year.
First up we’ll hear from Stephen Gilby, the seasoned Creative Director of Sydney Chinese New Year. Stephen will talk about the much-loved festival, now the third-largest yearly event in Sydney that attracts more than a million people. The festival has developed into an internationally-renowned celebration of Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Korean cultures, and is one of the biggest Lunar New Year celebrations outside of Asia.
Stephen will share the economic benefits festivals like Sydney Chinese New Year deliver to the wider business community, as well as examples of how businesses have successfully capitalised on this global celebration.
You’ll also hear from Destination NSW’s Adam Lowe, Project Director, Vivid Sydney. In 2016 a record 2.3 million people enjoyed Vivid Sydney, delivering $110 million in visitor spend to the NSW economy. Find out how your business can tap into this valuable resource that illuminates the city for 23 spectacular nights, attracting visitors from across the world.
To round out the night there’ll be an ‘in conversation’ panel with Kaila Carroso, Marketing Manager of Cruise Bar, Dr Frank Farrelly, Principal Dentist at Darlinghurst Dental, and Imogen Hayes, Marketing Manager of Handpicked Wines. They’ll share how they’ve successfully created business opportunities through Vivid Sydney, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival and Sydney Chinese New Year.
