Paper puppet making workshop for kids

Keep the art of story telling alive in this fun, 2-hour workshop for kids!

In this workshop, participants will design and make their own moveable paper puppet and create a world for them to live in using paper collage. Think super heroes, super villains, animal spirits, or maybe you just want to animate yourself! You can swap worlds, swap characters and create your own wild story!

This workshop is designed for children aged 6 and older. Scissors will be used.

Kim Siew is an artist and educator whose work explores the art of storytelling. She inspires children and adults to tell their own stories through paper art, murals, puppetry and zine making, encouraging participants to get messy, embrace the imperfect and have to have fun.

New Moon acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land we will meet on, the Gadigal-Wangal people of the Eora Nation. Kafe As Poume is an LGBTQIA and CALD safe space.

Did you know that all the proceeds from your ticket purchase go straight back into New Moon? This helps us fairly pay our artists and contributors, and develop and program accessible, fun and affordable content for the community. Thank you for supporting us!

We love running workshops and special events at New Moon! We care a lot about our audience and lovingly spend time preparing, sourcing materials and ingredients to make sure we give you the best experience possible. Unfortunately we can not offer ticket refunds for change of mind or last minute changes.
