The work of the Melocco brothers is embedded in the architecture of Australia.
In mosaic, terrazzo, sgraffito, scagliola and many derivations of this ancient art, these exotic terms are presented in stunning works throughout Sydney by the hands of three extraordinary brothers who migrated from a small village in Italy to Sydney made their mark in history, by painting with stone.
This tour will explore the architectural impact of the Melocco brothers in such sites as St Mary's Cathedral, the State Library of NSW, the State Theatre, the Commonwealth Bank in Martin Place, and the ANZAC Memorial.
