Sydney’s world renowned icons will be bathed in bold red light to welcome the Lunar New Year in 2017.
Across the entire opening weekend, our famous landmarks will be lit up for three nights to symbolise good fortune and joy.
In a festival first, the City will project a digital animation featuring the Rooster on the roof of the Australian National Maritime Museum. It will run 8pm–11pm for the first three nights of the festival.
Bring the family to see the city in a whole new light, including
- Sydney Harbour Bridge
- Sydney Opera House
- Circular Quay
- Sydney Town Hall
- David Jones Elizabeth Street
- Capitol Theatre with the support of Aladdin – The Musical
- State Library of NSW
- Westfield Sydney bridge to Myer – above Pitt Street Mall
- Australian National Maritime Museum Pavilion, Lighthouse and rooftop projection.
While you’re in Circular Quay, be sure to visit the Westpac Wall of Fortune – an interactive digital wall that captures your fortune for 2017 when you take a photo of the screen.
