Thursday 23 February from 7pm to 10:30pm
Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir in association with Sydney WorldPride is delighted to be hosting the Out & Loud & Proud (OLP) choral festival in Sydney from 19-23 February, 2023 as part of Sydney WorldPride.
The festival is drawing a massive number of singers from across the planet. 500 singers are expected including choirs from across Australia, Timor Leste, Japan and the USA. Individual singers from around the world will sing with the Individual Voices Choir led by internationally renowned queer chorus director, Dr Kathleen McGuire with over 40 singers from Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain already registered.
The Gala Concert in the magnificent Sydney Town Hall on the 23rd February will be the pinnacle of the festival. It will feature performances by each participating choir, the Individual Voices Choir and special guests.
The highlight will be the amazing power of the massed choir of all singers conducted by Festival Creative Director, Adam Majsay premiering two specially commissioned works; an Acknowledgement of Country by Yuwaalaraay storyteller and performer, Nardi Simpson, and a Festival Anthem by award winning composer, Joseph Twist with lyrics by Wiradjuri poet, Jazz Money.
This will be an amazing massed choral event not to be missed.
