Our Oriental Garden: Plants, Provenance & People

Lunar New Year celebrations at the Royal Botanic Garden

Celebrate Lunar New Year in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney by exploring the rich history of our Oriental Garden.

Join horticulturist and volunteer guide Relle Mott to hear the tales of collectors’ derring-do, and get to know the more than 2,400 wild and cultivated plants from East Asia which are featured in the Oriental Garden. Some of the plants include the lotus flower, bamboo, and the iconic wisteria arbour.
