Inspired by the sacred and plaintive sounds of both Christian and Sufi chant, Ottoman Baroque will be an imaginative musical meditation.

Plainsong will be woven with folksong and Baroque works inspired by eastern exoticism into a rich musical tapestry of European, Mediterranean and Oriental traditions. Experience an atmospheric pasticcio inspired by the colourful bazaars of Istanbul.

In a celebration of movement, colour and sound, 5 of Turkey’s most venerated traditional musicians will appear with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and members of the Brandenburg Choir building to a crescendo with the arrival of the mesmerising Whirling Dervishes.
