Opening: Heather B. Swann, Jordan Gower & Remy Faint

Join us at UNSW Galleries to celebrate the opening of three new exhibitions by Heather B. Swann, Jordan Gower, and Remy Faint.

Together, these exhibitions present a range of contemporary practices spanning painting, sculpture, ceramics, and installation. The exhibitions are open from 3 September – 22 November 2026. Join us for the opening celebrations from 4–6pm on Saturday 5 September.

Heather B. Swann: The Forests of Symbols

This ambitious new project is conceived as the first in a final series to be realised over the artist’s lifetime. Bringing together newly commissioned and rarely seen works in sculpture, painting, and drawing, the exhibition considers symbolism as a way of knowing the world. Curated by José Da Silva and presented as part of Copyright Agency Partnerships.

Jordan Gower: Does the moon know the well?

The first institutional exhibition by South Australian ceramic artist Jordan Gower presents a new body of work reimagining forms and surfaces developed through his practice as a production artist. Known for his refined, material-driven approach to wheel-thrown ceramics, Gower explores the shifting boundary between functional craft and contemporary art.

Remy Faint: A Site of Unfolding

Spanning painting, sculpture, and installation, this new body of work traces how personal histories intersect with broader narratives of inheritance and cultural memory. Developed through an ongoing dialogue with family histories and archival encounters, the exhibition brings new work into conversation with historical objects, allowing contemporary acts of making to unfold alongside inherited material histories.

UNSW Galleries is located at the Oxford Street entrance to the UNSW Art & Design campus in Paddington, five minutes from Sydney CBD. Lift access is available, and gallery staff at reception can assist visitors upon request. The venue welcomes visitors using wheelchairs or prams, as well as all service animals.
