Friday 10 December 2021 from 10am to 4pm Saturday 11 December 2021 from 10am to 4pm
Ruth Ju-Shih Li is a Taiwanese-Australian artist living and working in Sydney. Her practice is centred around the creation of intricate porcelain and raw clay ephemeral works which speak to the cyclical nature of time — birth, life, death, decay and rebirth.
Inspired by the elemental forces of nature, Ruth’s ephemeral pieces are built to disintegrate over time. Prior to Covid, Ruth would divide her time between Taiwan, Australia, and Jingdezhen, China where she holds a studio. She is currently an artist in residence at Lane Cove Gallery + Creative Studios.
You are invited to join us at Ruth Ju-Shih Li's studio, which will be open to the public for the first time over two days in December. This is the perfect opportunity to visit the studio of a young working artist, see her skill in the ceramic and sculpting mediums up close, and ask Ruth any and all questions on her practice and techniques.
Hosted with thanks by Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios. Drop in any time between 10am and 4pm on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 December. No RSVP required. For those unable to attend in person, email MAY SPACE Online on info@mayspace.com.au to organise a virtual tour.
