Abstract b-boy Rauf “RubberLegz” Yasit and contemporary dancer Brigel Gjoka met for the first time working in choreographer William Forsythe’s award-winning.

A Quiet Evening of Dance in 2018.

Both at the cutting edge of their disciplines, they created Neighbours, and with it a physical language informed by Gjoka’s contemporary dance, Yasit’s improvisational breaking and their respective Albanian and Kurdish roots.

Neighbours is genuine conversation. Created in collaboration with Forsythe, to live music by Ruşan Filiztek, elbows exchange fireside stories. Arms intertwine, rebutting, remembering, rejoicing. Knees and hips angle and unfold into intricate, unspoken patter. _Neighbours _reminds us that dance is not a product. Like conversation, it is a process.
