Navigation by the stars

Pack your binoculars and enjoy a spectacular night cruise learning about Indigenous astronomy.

Enjoy an evening of stargazing on board Tribal Warrior’s Mari Nawi.

Cruise around Sydney Harbour at night and learn how to use stars to mark your position from expert Indigenous astronomer Robert S Fuller. You’ll also hear stargazing stories from Indigenous tour guide Willy Stevens and have the opportunity to participate in a weaving workshop to create your own own moon or star!

This cruise is part of the museum’s Science Week program and is made possible thanks to the Department of Industry, Innovation & Science.

Suitable for: All ages (children from 4+years)

Things to remember:

  • Stargazing is dependent on clear skies. If forecasts indicate that bad weather is expected, the cruise will be cancelled by 2pm on the day of sailing, and ticketed passengers will be notified and refunded.
  • Please bring binoculars and a warm jacket.
  • Parents need to supervise their children.
  • Please consider the agility of those in your group when booking.

Light refreshments will be provided along with tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
