In this workshop, entomologist and professional educator Dr Tobias Smith will provide an overview on how to become a stingless beekeeper.
This workshop is a more condensed version of the one-day workshop. It includes a slide presentation and a practical session.
You’ll learn about bee nesting and foraging biology, the diversity of wild bees and modern stingless beekeeping in Australia, and using stingless bees for pollinating gardens and farms.
In the practical sessions, we’ll open hives and observe the amazing structures inside. We’ll divide a hive into two halves, showing the process of colony propagation.
Light refreshments provided.
