NAIDOC Storytime: Newtown Library

Your local library is celebrating Aboriginal history and culture with a series of pre-school storytime sessions.

Produced by the City of Sydney

In the week leading up to NAIDOC week Newtown Library is celebrating Aboriginal history and culture in a special preschool storytime session led by Peta Strachan.

A feast of traditional and contemporary dance, story, culture and artefacts, learn the ‘leaf’ and ‘honey bee’ dance as well as some traditional language. Be inspired to follow in Peta’s footsteps who, as a child, dreamt of being a dancer and went on to dance with the prestigious Bangarra Dance Theatre.

This 45-minute free event is suitable for a pre-school audience (3 to 5 year-olds).

Bookings aren’t necessary but arrive early as space is limited.
