Adapted from the Miles Franklin novel, written at the tender age of 20, My Brilliant Career is one of our great tales of emancipation and identity.
It is now fashioned for the Belvoir stage in a new adaptation by rising Australian playwright Kendall Feaver (Griffin Theatre Company’s The Almighty Sometimes).
My Brilliant Career is directed by Kate Champion (Every Brilliant Thing), starring a cast of some of the country’s finest talent, including the irrepressible Nikki Shiels (The Sugar House, STC’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) as Sybylla, with Blazey Best (Miss Julie, Medea), Jason Chong (Netflix’s Marco Polo, STC’s Chimerica), Tom Conroy (Jasper Jones, Ghosts), Emma Harvie (The Wolves, STC’S The Harp in the South), Tracey Mann (films Hating Alison Ashley, Top End Wedding) and Guy Simon (Jasper Jones, STC’s Black Diggers).
