Mutiny, Mayhem, Mythology: Bounty's Enigmatic Voyage

Historian Alan Frost challenges the myths and misconceptions that surround the Bounty mutiny

Join the State Library of NSW and Sydney University Press for the launch of Mutiny, Mayhem, Mythology: Bounty’s Enigmatic Voyage, a new book by esteemed Australian historian Alan Frost.

As the myriad histories, novels and films attest, the Bounty story holds an enduring fascination. However, for more than 200 years it has been marred by factual errors, misinterpretations and misplaced partisanship. With his trademark rigour and flair, Alan Frost explores why the mutiny continues to fascinate, and how previous accounts have got crucial details wrong.

The book will be launched by Richard Neville, Mitchell Librarian and Director, Education & Scholarship at the State Library of NSW.

Refreshments will be served on arrival. Free, but bookings essential.

Wednesday 26 September 2018 from 6pm to 8pm
