Two incredibly soulful artists taking jazz, soul and hip-hop influences to another level.
Rapper, guitarist, producer, Rapaport (He / Him) articulates personal thought bubbles, survival mantras and opaque moments through a sound influenced by grime, art rap, jazz and soul. Dense lyrics, dry humour, electric guitars dripped in reverb and a slapping drum break are most of his favourite things.
For 20 years Rapaport has been leaving an indelible mark on Australian grime & hip hop as co-founder and owner of Big Village Records, creator of Sketch the Rhyme, and member of groups Loose Change and The Phonies.
As a solo artist Rapaport has released two albums Laughing on the Inside (2009), and Village Idiot (2018) and two EPs Patterns (2012) and Dodo (2022). He was nominated for Best Song at FBi Radio SMAC Awards in 2017 for ‘What I Got’ and was a Winner of the Triple J Unearthed NIDA competition for Loose Change’s ‘Grown Up’ Ft. Jeswon (Thundamentals) in 2013, featured in the celebrated “Fully Gassed” grime cypher 2018 (850,000 views on YouTube) and ABC documentary “Aussie Battlers” in 2007.
