About this event

A mossarium is one of nature's most quietly beautiful creations — a living moss garden sealed under glass that sustains itself through its own water cycle, requiring almost no maintenance and lasting for years.

What you'll do in this plant workshop:

In this one-hour workshop, our expert botanical team will guide you through creating your own mossarium using special varieties of living moss, wood chips, pebbles and feature rocks — all housed in a beautiful contemporary glass vessel with a disc lid that redirects condensation back onto the moss, emulating nature's own water cycle.Choose your base on the day — cork, natural oak or concrete — each giving your mossarium a distinct aesthetic to suit your home or office.

You'll learn:

How a mossarium works as a self-sustaining living ecosystem

  • How to layer substrate, wood chips and pebbles for long-term moss health

  • How to select and position moss varieties for visual harmony

  • How to style your mossarium using feature rocks and natural elements

  • How to care for your mossarium once you take it home
