These paintings by Artist Rosie Tainsh, emerged in lockdown and are a reflection on events and places.
Particularly a reflection upon walking the Milford Track, New Zealand, after the frightening severity of a drought and fire struck summer here. Whilst Australia struggled, burned and thirsted, New Zealand experienced massive rainfall and huge floods. Walking ‘the path’ in all its moist green and dripping wet, brought calm.
Painting allowed expression of an osmosis of thoughts and visions happening within about extinguishment and ruin contrasted with primordial, unspoiled and enduring.
