MAY SPACE Online is proud to present a new online exhibition by Miriam Innes, Grandiose Paris!
Miriam Innes is an Irish artist based between Abu Dhabi and Brisbane. She is best known for her charcoal drawings and her large scale charcoal installations of hyper-realistic sprawling streetscapes. For her second solo exhibition with the Gallery, Miriam sets her sights on the city of Paris.
Grandiose Paris! is an investigation of France's iconic capital, with the intent to captivate those who see her works. Miriam's focus remains in creating large scale immersive artworks that actively include her viewers. While much of Australia suffers from extended and repeated lockdowns, Miriam's newest exhibition offers to us a sense of escapism and wonder.
The exhibition will be fully accessible online through our website, MAY SPACE Online, from 1 - 30 September 2021.
“Paris was a city I held in high regard when I travelled there from Dublin on a €20 airline ticket to visit the ‘City of Light’ and the ‘City of Love’ in my early twenties.
Reflecting on our current travel outlook, it seems almost surreal to consider how simple such an adventure was then and how it has altered in current times, two decades on.”
