This skill-focused workshop takes students through the basic principles of drawing, with reference to historic and contemporary drawing practice, while nurturing individual artistic expression and responding to each student’s level of ability.
Kim Spooner teaches the formal aspects of composition and shows how to develop drawings from interesting arrangements of objects, working from a life model to en plein air (outdoors).
Learn how to capture quick studies to record the essential information and how to develop them into finished drawings. She demonstrates how to use a variety of drawing mediums with ink, charcoal, watercolour, coloured chalk and collage. Students will also be encouraged to draw from their imagination and personal aesthetic.
