Community Flower Studio (CFS) is a not-for-profit social enterprise (established in 2019) with a vision to help youth learn life skills and find meaningful employment.
CFS will be hosting a ‘Mental Health Month Creative Weekend’ offering 4 virtual workshops for families in Sydney and surrounds. This is a free event jointly sponsored by CFS and the City of Sydney through a community matching grant.
Workshops will combine a succulent terrarium workshop with Asian paper lantern making. The lanterns symbolize ‘Shining a light’ to keep our hope up to get out of the current COVID-19 Lockdown. We believe there is ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. It will be a very good family bonding activity. Each family will create their unique succulent terrarium and a traditional paper lantern.
Dr. Bibiana Chan, the facilitator, first hosted a succulent terrarium workshop in 2018 at an RUOK? event. This will be her 18th workshop. She will also share her thoughts about lockdown coping strategies - gardening, sure, is one of them.
Saturday morning session is in Cantonese
Sunday afternoon session is in Mandarin
All other sessions are in English
Creative kits will be sent by Australia Post 3 or 4 days before the workshop. You'll also receive a Zoom by email.
