Martin Place Christmas concert & tree lighting

A free children’s concert with the lighting of Sydney’s interactive Christmas tree

Produced by the City of Sydney

Kick off Christmas 2017 at the free Martin Place Christmas concert. See the interactive Christmas tree lit by Santa and the Lord Mayor, who will arrive on a cycle-drawn sleigh.

Hosted by Channel 7’s leading presenter Samantha Armytage and news anchor Mark Ferguson, the concert is packed with entertainment the whole family will love.

Live pre–show entertainment will keep you entertained from 5.45pm.

The concert starts at 6.30pm. Performers include Jay Laga’aia, Australia’s most prolific Indigenous female entertainer Christine Anu, and the Australian Girls Choir, with more to be announced.

Santa stockings jam-packed with goodies will be on sale for $5. All proceeds go to our charity partner, Variety, the children’s charity.

The night finishes with a spectacular fireworks display to mark the start of the festive season.

GPO restaurants, bars and pop-up dessert bar will be open for the duration of the concert, offering a variety of food and drink options.

The MLC Centre food court and toilets will be open until 9pm.

Only companion animals are permitted.

Accessible seating can be reserved by emailing cbirley@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.
