Mardi Gras Fair Day

It’s the day when our communities sparkle in the sunlight!

Mardi Gras’ annual Fair Day is one of Sydney’s largest and best-loved community events.

Have a picnic, enjoy the performances on the main stage, dance in the Mardi Gras Lounge, get active in the Sports Village, laugh, eat, and have a good time. Even our furry friends are catered for – your pampered pooches can strut their stuff at our world-famous Doggywood, presented with ACON.

There is something for everyone at our Fair Day. The great line-up of entertainment on the ANZ Main Stage includes the cast of Kinky Boots giving attendees a taste of the hit stage show, Swing Out Sydney brings some fifties glam, plus performances by Aimee Francis, Hannah Conda, Melinda Schneider, the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir, DJ Kitty Glitter, and Trevor Ashley.

We invite you to bring a fabulous stiletto or kitten heel shoe to glitter bomb which will become part of a special Mardi Gras float for the 2017 Parade.

Joining us to celebrate are the original members of the 78’er group – hear first-hand what that very first Mardi Gras was like in 1978 – and Fair Day favourite community groups including Dykes on Bikes and the Team Sydney.

Fair Day is the perfect hybrid of picnic and party. Dress in your most outrageous colourful picnic couture and strut your stuff on the Main Stage for Fashions of the Fair, to be in the running for fabulous prizes!

Donations help keep Fair Day free for everyone, so spare some loose change upon entry, with all funds raised going towards Mardi Gras community grants.

Fair Day is our must-do family-friendly event of the year. See you there!

Proudly supported by ANZ.
