About Malo Malo
Led by Danny G Felix, an Australian pianist, trumpeter & producer who divides his time between Sydney where he grew up, & Cali, Colombia - the ”capital of Salsa. Malo Malo released their debut album “AUSTRALEÑO” in 2019. Several tracks have charted internationally and have been featured in the top 100 “New Generation Salsa” playlists. It was also ‘”Album of the week” on Eastside Radio & SBS Spanish.
Their latest single 'Finao' was song of the week on FBi Radio's Bare Necessities. They started 2020 off with a bang performing at Cali’s biggest New Year's Day street party in the barrio.
Ulpiano lloreda shortly followed by sold-out shows in Colombia’s capital Bogota. Malo Malo’s explosive live shows always set fire to the dance floor with their sensuality and infectious grooves.
Their Live in Cali EP recorded at Cali’s famous salsa club La Topa Tolondra is out now on all platforms. A distinct soulful jazz flavour enriches the afro-Latin dance rhythms which originally come from Cuba.
They are also passionate about paying homage and celebrating the legends (past and present) of Salsa music such as Eddie Palmieri, Grupo Niche, Celia Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon & Los Van Van.
