Schools out, so to celebrate, we’ve got free hands-on making sessions for kids. They’ll have fun while they get creative with electronics and robotics. Just BYO imagination and get constructing.
This school holidays we’ll be exploring motion, electronics and robotics.
LittleBits building (8-12 years): Kids will get to combine our littleBits electronic building blocks with sensors and motors to create fun electrical circuits.
Newtown Library – Wednesday 3 October, 10am – 11:30am
Haymarket Library – Monday 8 October, 10:30am – 12pm
Steady-hand game (8-12 years): Kids will design their own steady-hand game and using simple electronics and test their hand-eye skill.
Surry Hills Library – Wednesday 10 October, 11am–12pm
Edison Robots (10-15 years): Kids will explore a range of engineering challenges with our new EdCreate extension construction kits for Edison Robots. There a number of projects to choose from including a tank and a digger.
Ultimo Library – Tuesday 2 October, 10.30am–12pm
Wind tube (5-8 years): Kids will make their own flying machine from recycled materials and watch it soar.
Kings Cross Library – Wednesday 3 October, 11am–12pm
Waterloo Library – Friday 12 October, 11am–12pm
Marble run (8–12 years): Kids will use our new marble run peg boards to successfully guide balls through a series of tubes, obstacles and funnels in this creative thinking challenge.
Glebe Library – Thursday 4 October, 11am–12pm (free play 12pm–1pm)
Green Square Library – Thursday 11 October, 11an–12pm (free play 12pm–1pm)
Workshops are free, however bookings are recommended as places are limited. All materials are provided.
Parents or guardians need to stay in the library during the session.
