Maker and creator workshops: Newtown Library

Harness all things inspirational and inventive with our sensational series of creative workshops for kids.

Produced by the City of Sydney

Your creative brain will be in great company at our hands-on after-school making sessions. You’ll get to play and create with the latest robotic toys and digital and electronic gadgets. There are 4 workshops to build different digital and making skills.

These workshops are best suited to children 8 years and over.

Scribbling robot: Tuesday 1 August
Use a DC motor and recycled parts to make a jittery drawing robot.

Homopolar motor: Tuesday 15 August
Using batteries, magnets and wires make your own spinning contraption.

Vibro-bot: Tuesday 29 August
Use a brush and a small motor to make a simple jittering robot.

Chain reaction: Tuesday 12 September
Use different objects, circuits and bits and pieces like dominoes and marbles to make your own over-engineered contraption.

Sessions are free and run for 1 hour fortnightly from August to September.

Bookings are essential.
